Model dan Type Pintu Utama

Pintu utama rumah tinggal memiliki type dan model yang lebih bervariasi daripada pintu-pintu lain di rumah. Variasi model dengan tipe bukaan, bentuk dan sistem bukaan yang di gunakan.
Berdasarkan type bukaan, pintu utama lazimnya memiliki tiga alternatif yaitu bukaan tunggal (Single), bukaan ganda (double) dan bukaan majemuk. Bukaan ganda sendiri di bagi menjadi bukaan ganda sama lebar dan bukaan ganda beda lebar. Sementara bukaan majemuk biasanya terdapat pada pintu lipat yang memiliki  lebih dari dua bukaan.
Berdasarkan bentuk, pintu utama lazimnya memiliki dua bentuk populer yaitu bentuk persegi dan gabungan antara bentuk persegi dan kurva. Pada beberapa rumah ada pula yang menggunakan bentuk-bentuk yang kurang lazim seperti bentuk kontemporer yang asimetris.
Berdasarkan sistem bukaan, pintu utama ada yang menggunakan model Pintu ayun (swing door), Pintu geser (sliding door) atau Pintu lipat (Folding door). Pemilihan model sistem bukaan ini di tentukan oleh besaran rumah/ruang tamu dan lebar bukaan pintu.
